BBC Friday 19 April 2013 – Story Telling Reprise

Join us this BBC Friday for Story Telling Time Reprise!

thumb_0051

Last Friday at BBC we heard some great stories and accounts of the business journeys of our fellow BBCites, Annette Walker (astonishinc.com), Mickey Molnaire (molnaire.com), Carol Thornburgh (thornburgh-insurance.com), and others. What a great time of sharing and learning! For from our stories comes powerful lessons and business wisdom, as well as a deeper connection with fellow entrepreneurs.

As noted, the forth founding principle of BBC states: The BBC offers its members the opportunity to build connections of trust between each others companies and services, sharing skills and specialties, and critiquing professional copy. Part of the way we started out building trust in one another’s businesses was to share our stories, who we are as business owners and entrepreneurs. Story telling.

We’ll continue another week with this idea, giving a few more the opportunity to share their stories.

BBC Regular Tom McKinnon has recently found himself in transition and will share this turn of events in his entrepreneurial journey, what he has learned, what may be next.

So, invite your friends and associates to join us for this exciting time … and another delicious cup of BBC!

Join us this BBC Friday for Story Telling Time

thumb_0051The forth founding principle of BBC states: The BBC offers its members the opportunity to build connections of trust between each others companies and services, sharing skills and specialties, and critiquing professional copy.  Part of the way we started out building trust in one another’s businesses was to share our stories, who we are as business owners and entrepreneurs. Story telling.

Thus, for those first months meeting at the Blue Ocean Cafe, members — BBC regulars, those having attended at least 2 meetings attain the coveted “BBC Regular” status — members would take five or ten minutes and tell stories, about their journey into their present business or into a previous business incarnation or their journey from Minnesota to the Puget Sound, or their journey from animal husbandry or novelist-in-a-cave to network administrator, human resources specialist, office ergonomics resource, or personal financial adviser.

BBC Friday 22 March 2013 – Kirsten Scheffler “Lessons & Learned Wisdom From Premium Wine & Liquor”

Join us this BBC Friday for a reprise retrospective from BBC Regular Kirsten Scheffler, amazing manager of Premium Wine & Liquor, which, despite the heroic efforts of Kirsten and her delightful staff, closed its doors on 1 March 2013. (PS. BBC had nothing to do with that! We never met there! It’s not our fault!!)

thumb_0051The island’s former state-run liquor store operated under the name Premium Wine and Liquor and was owned by a Seattle-based company. Kirsten managed the store with skill, flair, and acumen during its nine months of superior quality service to the Island.

When the store opened, Kirsten told Richard Oxley of the Bainbridge Review: “‘Our sales have been pretty good so far. Honestly, we have great customers who continue to come to our store location…. We’ve had a lot of comparison shopping, which we welcome, because this is a confusing time for customers’.” (Richard D. Oxley, Bainbridge Island Review Staff Writer, June 8, 2012 · 12:23 PM · bainbridgereview.com/business/158191775.html). / Kirsten’s contact info: [email protected]
