K. D. Kragen is a philosopher, writer, teacher, editor, husband, father and grandfather. A third generation San Franciscan, Vietnam era vet U.S. Coast Guard (1973-1977), married to Janet L. Kragen for 32 years (1977-present), K. D. is a published novelist ("The KillWare Chronicles" and "Plagueman"); he has taught logic and lectured in philosophy of art at various college and local art schools (Northwest College of Art, Trumeau College of the Arts). Presently he teaches senior citizens basic computer skills (to be able to keep in touch with children and grandchildren), does general computer maintenance, MS and Linux OS, manages a small publishing house, Scandia Patch Press, and edits and ghosts the writings of other local authors. 19 February,  Wednesday, Noon-3:00, at OXp, Professional Portraits by Matt Longmire, Northwest Films: We are delighted to announce a special opportunity to have a portrait taken for your professional purposes this coming Wednesday, February 19th, at OfficeXpats!  Matt Longmire, of Northwest Films — who created the I’m An Xpat video — is now shooting what he calls “Social Network Portraits” to use online or on your resume and business card. He needs a few good portraits for his portfolio, so he’s offering free portrait sessions (approximately 10 minutes in length) go to the first 8 members who sign up.  If you’re not one of the first 8, you can still sign up for the same service at $20 (half the normal price.) Wear “Business Casual” with little-to-no patterns and no visible logos. This Friday, we have a very exciting visiting guest speaker, Dawn Shaw, owner and operator of Lone Cedar Icelandic Horses ranch. But horse-craft is not all that Dawn does and lives. 

Dawn Shaw, Author, gifted storyteller, horse trainer & gentler, human from Earth and business innovator, Dawn has been keynote speaker at a number of local area venues on such topics as: “Facing Up to It: Turning Adversity into Advantage,” “Living Beyond the Reflection,” “Differences Drive Innovation,” and “The Worth of Worthiness.” She has also worked with sometime BBC regular and master executive coach Dan Weedin (danweedin.com).
