Join us this Friday for a very special guest presentation by Island Volunteer Caregivers (ivcbainbridge.org) executive director Rita Elsberry. Rita is a native of Bainbridge Island who has lived here most of her life, except for a brief stint in Kodiak, Alaska, where all of her children were born. 

IVC has been a valuable community asset for over 20 years serving the needs of our Bainbridge neighbors, and giving our IVC volunteers a sense of satisfaction, purpose, and participation. 

With a volunteer force of around 200 Volunteers, IVC fills the requests of over 300 Care Receivers whose needs run the gamut from doctor’s and physical therapy appointments, medical note-taking, household tasks, and shopping outings to a variety of Life Enrichment activities, e.g. museum tours, music and movie groups, pet therapy visits, and even a Kreaky Knees walking group. Our Care Receivers are primarily seniors and persons with disabilities. Our volunteers include a wide range of ages, working or retired, who give what they can, when they can. The IVC Office is staffed by Rita Elsberry, Executive Director, Robin Gaphni, Program Manager, and Lynn Murphy, Life Enrichment Coordinator.
